Speaking
I resisted getting up front when we lived in France. Our church was an all hands-on-deck kind of church, so we shared responsibilities in leading worship and speaking. I hid behind my accent until my French friends told me to get over it.
Through my work in the mission arm of the Church of the United Brethren in Christ, I was a guest speaker for missions events, often presenting on our overseas work at a hospital in Sierra Leone.
These days, I speak bimonthly at Fairhaven Mennonite Church and occasionally at my own church, Anchor Community.
